The photograph to the right is of our new vessel, the M/V Richard S. Edwards, delivered into full service in the autumn of 2008. Funded by a generous donation from Peter and Ginny Nicholas and their family, the Richard S. Edwards was built by the Atlantic Boat Company of Brooklyn, Maine. Replacing the venerable and dependable but aged Harold M. Hill,  the Edwards features increased power and speed, improved fuel efficiency, and added cabin room to comfortably accommodate more passengers. More than just a seaworthy vessel, the integrity and rugged construction of the Richard S. Edwards sets the organizational tone for the students, staff, board members, volunteers, visitors and supporters of Penikese: strong, hard-working and proud.
