Celebrate With Us

Save the date of August 23, 2008 to join us on Penzance Point. This party, in honor of our 35th anniversary, will feature food, drink, music and dancing as well as a silent auction of more than 50 interesting goods and services. We are all especially excited about this year’s event because we will also be unveiling our new boat, donated by an extraordinarily generous family. More than just a seaworthy vessel, this new boat also sets the organizational tone for its students, staff visitors and supporters alike: safe, strong, hard-working and proud. Please join us.

Visitors Trips:

Whether you are a newcomer, or a Penikese devotee, consider joining us on a Visitors Trip, this summer. Embarking from our dock in Woods Hole, our new boat will be geared up for 2 trips: Sunday, July 20 and Sunday, September 21. The boat ride provides an opportunity to get to know each other while enjoying the seascape. Executive staff and volunteers lead the island tour. Lunch is served (family style). Space is limited: Call Suzanne at 508.548.7276 x 208 to reserve a spot. Visitors often tell us that a first hand look makes all the difference in understanding the Penikese approach.

Friendraisers:

The goal of a friendraiser is to create an event to be remembered fondly by all while, at the same time, raising awareness, and important new relationships for our school. Typically a casual event, held at home in the evening, a friend-raiser can also be successful in a business-after-hours setting. They are by invitation only: you provide Penikese with the guest list. After reviewing the number of people the actual place and time can be agreed upon; perhaps in your backyard with hors d’ouvres and cocktails or in the meeting room of your business. At that point, we take care of creating, mailing and following up on the invitations. Friendraiser’s are fun and inspiring, and a perfect opportunity for you to show your support.
