For Parents
Penikese Parent Advisors
Because Penikese’s students come from all over the state and its office is located in Woods Hole in the state’s Southeast corner, the School has developed a different format and procedure for its Parent Advisory Group. Rather than regularly scheduled meetings, Penikese provides parent contact via the internet.
As always, parents will have regular telephone and email contact with the Clinical Director (the Executive, Assistant, Education, and Aftercare Directors are also readily available if needed) as long as the student is enrolled and are informed of any changes in school policy when they occur.
Furthermore, Jane Tatlock, the parent of a former student, has agreed to serve as President of the Penikese Parent Advisory Group (PPAG). Jane is available for parent support, advice and other school information, and is the conduit for questions or comments about policy changes. She can be contacted via the internet at .
Parents can view postings from other parents past and present and communicate with each other and by entering the Parents of Penikese Students password-protected chatroom. If you are the parent of a Penikese student and wish to use this service but have not been granted access, contact Penikese Clinical Director Pamela Brighton at .
Periodically, Penikese will host and moderate online seminars and discussions for Penikese parents and others interested in learning more about Penikese and the challenges of working with adolescents on Penikese Island or anywhere. Announcements of these “webinars” will be posted here and on Penikese’s blog Over the Bar.
