Tour
Welcome to Penikese!
We have assembled a slide show, visible to your right, which will begin playing automatically. Meanwhile, if you have never been to Penikese and would like to visit, contact the school by clicking the link below.
As sole occupant and steward to the island, Penikese hosts many visitors year round with varied interests: student parents, family, agency and school personnel, those interested in natural history and the wildlife sanctuary, history buffs of all stripes, those considering supporting the school in some fashion (or who already do), and some who simply enjoy a scenic boat ride. No matter the specific area of interest, all visitors get a thorough tour of the island and school and the offer of a free meal with staff and students. Almost all leave with indelible impressions and fond memories.
Penikese takes visitors out in singles or very small groups year round on Wednesdays, usually those with some vested interest in the school and its various dealings. Weekend trips open to the public are generally scheduled for late spring, summer and fall and take place on Saturdays or Sundays. A current schedule can be found on this web site’s Events page.
