Reconnect With Penikese

We are thrilled to host our first-ever Alumni Overnight on Penikese! We know how many campers wish they could return year after year, and we are excited to welcome you back for a special overnight experience designed just for our alumni.

This immersive program blends science, nature, and art (just like Camp!) while allowing for more unstructured time to explore the island and connect with peers. Alongside hands-on activities, you’ll have the opportunity to simply enjoy Penikese’s rugged, unspoiled beauty and share meaningful moments with others who share your love for this special place.

Activities Include:

  • Science: Plankton tow & microscopy

  • Nature: Morning birding, a night-time walk in the dark, free-time exploration

  • Art: Biological illustration, painting, nature collage, print making, natural tie-dying

  • Reflection: Journaling and Evening Circle discussions

  • Preparing and sharing meals together

This overnight is a chance to reconnect with the island, deepen your curiosity, and create lasting memories with your Penikese community.

The Penikese Island School acknowledges that we are gathering on the unceded ancestral land of the Wôpanâak (Wampanoag) Nation.  We recognize and respect the Wampanoag people and honor their enduring relationship with this land.  This Land Acknowledgment is an intentional act to counter the erasure of Indigenous people and to demonstrate respect for their sovereign rights.  We are committed to educating our staff and students about the longstanding history of the Wampanoag people.
