A Penikese Membership is a simple but meaningful way to signal your commitment to the Island, our mission, and the community that sustains it.

With a $100 annual membership, you join our Board of Directors, Advisory Board, Island Caretakers, and dedicated volunteers in stewarding Penikese Island School and its educational programs.

Members are:

  • Invited to Island Clean-Up Days and select volunteer opportunities

  • Included in opportunities to travel to Penikese aboard the M/V Edwards

  • Invited to the inaugural Penikese Members Gathering, to be held this fall at our Woods Hole Shore Office.

  • Kept informed about Penikese events, talks, and ways to engage throughout the year

Most importantly, membership reflects a shared belief in access, stewardship, and place-based education.

The Penikese Island School acknowledges that we are gathering on the unceded ancestral land of the Wôpanâak (Wampanoag) Nation.  We recognize and respect the Wampanoag people and honor their enduring relationship with this land.  This Land Acknowledgment is an intentional act to counter the erasure of Indigenous people and to demonstrate respect for their sovereign rights.  We are committed to educating our staff and students about the longstanding history of the Wampanoag people.
